Blog Hopping with Tombow and Stampendous

It’s always so much fun when I get to play with a Stampendous Blog Hop. I’m really excited about this one, because Tombow markers have been huge favorites of mine since my days working at Stampa Barbara in Costa Mesa! (I used to cringe every time someone called them Tomboy! aaaagh!)

Tombow had the good red! And I recommended them to everyone. The Brush Markers are just loaded with gorgeous ink and so much fun to use with blender pens, waterbrushes, and just about any marker techniques you’ve tried.

This week Stampendous is blogging along with the folks at Tombow and the prize package includes the Stampendous Top Hat Snowman Cling Rubber Stamp Set. I decided to color him with the Brights Tombow Dual Brush Marker set.

Stamped him with VersaFine Onyx Black for a crisp, dark black outline perfect for waterbased coloring media.

Used the blender pen and the brush tip of the markers to color and blend his various areas.

I stamped the background with a light blue pad using the turquoise marker on the one set of words so it would stand out as a greeting. Mounted it on Parakeet cardstock (Bazzill) and used May Arts baker’s twine to wrap around the top. I added some Stampendous Multi UltraFine Glitter with a Zig 2-way Glue Pen.

I’m pretty happy with my finished card. You can’t see all the sparkle here, but the snow at his feet and the highlights all have the shiny glitter… oooh!!!

Be sure to check out all the other designers posting samples today.

Authentique and Stampendous Blog Hop

Blog Banner Authentique

Hi Friends,

This week the Stampendous Design Team is sharing some terrific projects using Authentique Papers on their blog posts. The kind folks at Authentique sent a lot of great patterned papers for the team to use on a big Blog Hop in October plus in the the Spring themed Stampendous October Catalog. The gals kindly took a few days out to make some other great projects, however, because this paper is just too fun not to use on all kinds of things.

I don’t get to blog with the team very often (I don’t usually have time to make anything) but our hop was looking kind of weak for Thursday, so I put together this fun card featuring Stampendous Lovely Garden Jumbo Stamp Set and the matching Lovely Garden Cutting Dies. I’m so excited that we finally got to make dies at Stampendous. I’ve been wanting them for years. And these are just gorgeous!

I decided to do the flower and leaves in various black and white Authentique papers. Then add the butterfly in a beautiful lettuce green that has tiny butterflies on it. Add some May Arts Jute Twine and coordinating Bazzill paper, and you’ve got a quick and easy card that really pops.

I added some white colored pencil to the center of the smaller flower for just a bit of definition in the petals. They were a tad hard to see on such dark paper. But I really love the contrast.

So did I mention there are prizes?? Yep, you could win a bunch of fun Authentique papers plus a $20 Stampendous Reward Card to spend on our website! How? Just comment on as many blog posts this week as you can. Each comment is an entry to win! We’ll draw one winner using on Monday, so you have until Sunday, August 17th to comment. You can find the posts for the week here:
Be sure to visit the Stampendous Blog tomorrow when several of the Design Team will have additional projects to post!! Thanks for stopping by!

 – By the way, for those who care about this sort of thing, I made this card in the Stampendous offices using paper supplied by Authentique for our use and lots of other cool stuff given to us to use in our Graphics Department. So I didn’t buy any of it, but I wouldn’t use it if I didn’t love it either. Life is way too short to craft with icky stuff!
